Client Registration & Meet and Greets

- This visit is required for all new clients before booking services. While we’re happy to tentatively hold your requested dates, we must first meet you and your pets to assess your needs before confirming care.
- This meeting is also recommended for existing clients whose primary sitter is unavailable and would like to meet their secondary sitter in advance. If preferred, the secondary sitter can provide care using the detailed notes on file, and a meeting is not required.
- Clients are required to complete their profile in full prior to scheduling or participating in any meet and greet.
Key Pick up/Drop off
- $25
- This service is for clients who prefer not to use a lockbox or hide-a-key option. Your pet sitter will arrange to pick up your key before services begin and return it after services are completed.
Crated Care
We require a minimum of three daily visits, each lasting at least 30 minutes, for dogs that spend time crated, ensuring they receive attentive exercise, enrichment, and companionship throughout the day. Each visit is tailored to your pet’s needs, maintaining comfort, routine, and peace of mind while you’re away. Why DTX Pets Does Not Use Retractable Leashes
At DTX Pets, the safety and well-being of both dogs and our walkers is our highest priority. For this reason, we do not use retractable leashes. While they may seem convenient, retractable leashes carry risks that can compromise safety, control, and proper training:
- Reduced Control: Sudden movements or distractions are harder to manage, putting both dogs and walkers at risk.
- Injury Risk: Higher chance of rope burns, sprains, or falls for dogs and handlers alike.
- Tangled or Snapped Lines: Thin cords can fray, tangle, or break unexpectedly.
- Encourages Pulling: Can undermine leash training and proper walking behavior.
- Unsafe in Crowded Areas: Difficult to navigate traffic, other dogs, or pedestrians safely.
At DTX Pets, we use secure, controlled leashes to ensure every outing is safe, comfortable, and enjoyable. We also strongly encourage pet owners to do their own research and carefully consider the potential risks before deciding to use a retractable leash. Every detail of our care reflects our commitment to providing a premium, worry-free experience for both pets and their families.
